Interview Excerpt

Cambridge Who's Who: What is the most rewarding aspect of your career?
MR. WILLIAM V. HANSON :  The ability to assist farmers, who are in a very risky business, and to provide risk management tools through crop insurance products. There have been several highlights in my career. Part of that occurred during my service for the United States Department of Agriculture and, since that time, working with companies and farmers to help make sure various crop insurance products are sold and utilized properly and legally.

What is your greatest professional accomplishment to date?
That would be earning my position as director of the Reinsurance Contract Division at the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation of the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Washington D.C. Since that time, being named chairman of the National Association of Crop Insurance Agents and chairman of the Agent Division for the American Association of Professional Crop Insurers have been big accomplishments.

How many years have you been in the industry?
I started in the crop insurance industry in 1982, so it’s been 26 years.
