Biography Excerpt:
After working as a refrigeration, cooling and heating appliance repairman for nearly three decades, Robert W. Eagleston began teaching at the Bay State School of Technology, a vocational school in Canton, Mass. The facility trains and certifies men and women in the application of technical skills to the trade of appliance servicing in commercial and domestic settings. As an instructor, Mr. Eagleston lends his expertise to eager technical specialists looking to increase their proficiency in HVAC operations, Freon recovery and basic electricity.

Cambridge Who's Who: How did you become involved in your profession?  
ROBERT W. EAGLESTON :  I started out with Jordan Marsh & Company in Boston and I went from there to RCA. I was with RCA for 14 years and became a service manager. Then I went to school over on Commonwealth Avenue in Boston. From there I went into my own business for 17 years and then I got picked up by Whirlpool for 15 years.

Do you have a motto or principle that guides your work?
What I wanted to do was get the job done as fast as I could and give them an honest day’s work for an honest day’s pay. I feel as though I’ve had a good life so far and I’m very satisfied with it.

Do you find that some assignments are harder than others?
When you go in there, every job is a challenge. Every time I fix something, I feel that I’ve done something preventative so the customer doesn’t have to buy another one. I had my own business for 17 years and I still get calls.
