Always go for more education and treat your patients as you would like your family members to be treated. Then you’ll have no problems with patients coming back and saying you didn’t treat them correctly.

Biography Excerpt:
Beatriz Von Ohlen is an associate master technical instructor in The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College’s nursing education program. Teaching courses geared specifically toward students pursuing associate degrees, Ms. Von Ohlen is an ideal candidate for her position due to her extensive background and experience as a nurse, more specifically a women’s health practitioner. Though she has spent seven years as a formal educator, her 37-year work history consisted of mostly direct care in multiple settings that strengthened her ability to relate with patients of many backgrounds.

     

Cambridge Who's Who: What would you like to promote most about yourself or your business?  
BEATRIZ VON OHLEN :  I’ve tried to provide access to healthcare for those who don’t qualify – the uninsured and the underinsured.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your career?
It is very rewarding when my students receive a bachelor’s degree. The most rewarding was when a student whose mother I had provided prenatal care for ended up in my class. I had arranged for him to have surgery as soon as he was born, then he came into my class and went on to graduate.

What is your greatest professional accomplishment to date?
I am working to establish a nurse management clinic in our parish for community and parish members.
