Cambridge Who's Who: How do you remain current in your profession?
DR. RICHARD O RUSSELL JR.:  I read the relevant information. There is also a comprehensive website I read, called http://www.cardiosource.com, which is from the American College of Cardiology. I also attend conferences two to three times per year.

Who have been your mentors or people who have greatly influenced you?
My father, who was a physician, and Dr. Tinsley Harrison, who was my teacher and mentor. They gave me models by which to structure my life and professionalism. I also credit my wife, Phyllis, for supporting me in everything I do. This past June, we celebrated 45 years that we’ve been together.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your career?
My relationships with patients over the years; you tend to know patients and their families on a multigenerational level.
