Why
F
is an Expert:
Chelation therapy and nutrition.
Best Advice:
Give it a full scrutiny – what is the motivation behind what you want to do? How are you going to achieve that? The typical education of a nutritionist does not cover such things as bioavailability and peer-reviewed, blind placebo research. What are the options open for me? Do I go and formulate the same old product with a new twist and put it on the store shelves? Am I going to pave my own path with something that is unique and different?
Passionate about:
I’m passionate about truth, integrity, bona fide results and the joy of life. If there is not joy in life, the other things don’t have any meaning.
Biography Excerpt:
Z. Janeel A. Henderson’s intense problem solving abilities led her to where she is today. As far as she could remember, her parents had instilled a natural curiosity and penchant for asking ‘why.’ Her father was the first to learn how to duplicate amino acid chelation through supplementation – not only in humans, but also in plants and animals. As a pioneer in the field of chelation therapy, he imparted to his daughter valuable and privileged knowledge. Since then, she has evolved to a leading nutritional consultant and expert in the field of chelation therapy.

Cambridge Who's Who:
How do you remain current in your profession?
DR.
Z. JANEEL
A.
HENDERSON
: My manufacturer is in the family. They are on the forefront of the world nutrition industry, so I consult with them to remain current. I read professional journals and publications. My father is a world authority and started the patented process. That’s what I was exposed to, grew up with and worked beside. I look at what other researchers are doing – they’re still working with inorganic minerals and having all sorts of problems. I can utilize a chelated mineral instead of inorganic mineral.
What is the most significant issue facing your profession today?
Obtaining unbiased, scientific, peer-reviewed validation for products. There are a dime-a-dozen testimonials and semi-implied results that are marketed, so the consumer comes to the conclusion that the manufacturer wants them to come to without them ever having to say it, because they can’t back it up. People assume that the government, agencies or big corporations are looking after their best interests. Nothing can be further from the truth. A big concern of mine is that the consumers start to take accountability and responsibility for their health. It will never come from these entities. Health is not what drives them – profit drives them. In our country, we are penalized for the pursuit of health. We must teach the consumer to take responsibility for their own health. Make sure to double check that your resources are not misquoting information.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your career?
Seeing people’s lives change for the better. It gets really up close and personal, such as when a person’s life is saved. There is an element there on which you cannot place a price tag. You become an intimate, integral part of someone’s life. Most of the time, we really don’t know how we have impacted a person’s life. People are quick to criticize, but not to offer positive feedback. We have clients who have been with us for 34 years; obviously, it must be working for them.
