Cambridge Who's Who:
What is the most rewarding aspect of your career?
CAROL
L
HINMAN
: Taking care of the elderly and young people in need of proper treatment. We made sure they had activities to do, so they are kept busy other than just laying in bed looking at the ceiling. I approved the activities.
What is your greatest professional accomplishment to date?
Owning and running my own skilled nursing facility for 17 years. That was the one thing I wanted to do, was operate it the way I felt it should be.
Do you stay current in the profession?
I read the magazines and journals. I keep up with it through my daughter and my son because they’re still active in the industry. My son is a nursing home administrator. My daughter is a medical records consultant. My grandson did work in medical records for several years; now he’s in the computer business. My other grandson works for Kaiser Permanente.
