“Make your employees feel valued. Be responsive. Allow them to participate in the process. They are living the problem; allow them to come up with the solution. Often, all that is needed from the administration is gentle guidance and praise. Communicate with complete transparency. If you're in the executive suite, it's critical that you stay visible and participate in employee functions.”

“Making patients feel comfortable, well-educated and cared for. It's difficult to take away a patient’s autonomy. We need to understand that if a patient feels in control, they actually get better faster. Patients are my passion.”
Biography Excerpt:
As the chief processing officer for Bingham Memorial Hospital, Vicki Lynn Allen is in charge of managing patient care. Under the chief executive officer, she supervises staff, oversees systems operations and provides patient care. Ms. Allen received her associate degree in nursing in 1976 from Madison Area Technical College. She is a certified neonatal instructor and a certified legal nurse consultant. In 2007, she was appointed to the Idaho Board of Nursing to complete a professional nurse term.
