Remain positive, even if there is an economic downturn. This is a great challenge for people to see if they can push past this hard time. Then later, in the future, they will be very successful. Go beyond what you are currently doing right now.

I am passionate about talking to people and seeing what they need. When I listen to them, they open up and share their real life experiences. Then I strive to meet their requirements. That’s very important because as brokers we represent clients; we don’t represent the insurance companies. Whatever they need, we will find the company that is best for their needs and we will fit them into a category within that company.

JB Financial Investments, Inc. dba Today Insurance Agency, is a full-service insurance company located in San Jose, Calif. Catering to consumers around the Bay Area and throughout the nation, the firm manages commercial and personal insurance portfolios. Brian Nguyen is a financial advisor who specializes in the sale of health and life insurance to private customers. During his three years as the founder of this agency, Mr. Nguyen has consistently proffered consulting regarding the most profitable and wise decisions for individuals and businesses on how to protect their assets and finances.

     

Cambridge Who's Who: What would you like to promote most about yourself or your business?  
BRIAN D. NGUYEN BS:  Right now our business is concentrated mostly on commercial insurance and worker’s compensation insurance. We offer all types of commercial insurance, such as facility and plant insurance, employee insurance and health insurance, and can fulfill all of a business’ insurance needs. Going forward, we want to increase our sales of life insurance and financial planning services such as annuities.

And what specific steps have you taken toward achieving these goals?
We have set up all of our legal systems and contracts for agents and the [company’s] incorporation is complete. Now we are focusing on contracts, and hiring agents and employees. To achieve our long-term goal, we will push with more advertising in mainstream media. Right now we are advertising but only locally. We want to expand, maybe to the entire state of California. If we grow, then we will open more locations in Southern California and eventually throughout the United States. The goal in the long term is to be licensed in different states.

How would you characterize those individuals who work in your field?
I find people in the medical industry, particularly those who work in at Johns Hopkins and Stanford Medical University, to be very intelligent people. They try to work very hard to find ways to cure critical illnesses such as cancer. These medical professional make people live healthier and longer lives. They improve the quality of our lives.
