I consider myself to be an expert in pharmacy and health care management.

Best Advice:
When someone applies for a job with my company, I tell them they must have three things: competence, kindness and caring. If they don’t have these things, they’re not going to treat our patients, or our other employees, well and they won’t excel in the practice of pharmacy.

Passionate about:
I am passionate about my family, my children and my grandchildren. I love my grandchildren Austin, Devin, William, and Sophia and Ellie. I am passionate about my profession, my corporations and good patient outcomes. I am very interested in music, theater, cooking, boating and politics.

Biography Excerpt:
In the pharmaceutical industry the hallmarks are patient care, services, support and treatment, and not many industry professionals typify this standard more aptly than N. Lois Adams. Ms. Adams is the president and chief executive officer of the HHCS Health Group of medical companies, which include independent pharmacies, ambulatory infusion centers, medical clinics, clinical research centers, veterinary supply and medical management companies. Founded in 1984, Ms. Adams’ organization is considered one of the largest, privately held conglomerates of its kind.

     

Cambridge Who's Who: What would you like to promote most about yourself or your business?  
MS. N. LOIS ADAMS B.PHARM., MBA, CPH:  The longevity and diversity of our products and services. We have been in business since 1984 and are still involved in the health care field. The fact that I have a wonderful staff who works very hard — most of whom have been with me for a very long time. We try to have everyone share in the success. I want people to enjoy their job and value working here. And, I am proud as I can be that both our pharmacies received perfect scores on their re-accreditations by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care for the year 2010.

How do you remain current in your profession?
I read a tremendous amount of information that comes into the office every day in both digital and print mediums; it’s almost an information overload. I am very involved with different pharmaceutical organizations and major pharmaceutical companies. We attend numerous conferences, subscribe to trade and business journals, and attend professional continuing education programs, among many other mediums.

Do you have a motto?
Our unofficial motto here at the office is, “Cooperate and Graduate!” In other words — work together to get things done. This has a lot to do with the success that we have because we have a real spirit of cooperation. When issues come up between people, we encourage understanding and empathy.
