Cambridge Who's Who:
What is the most rewarding aspect of your career in real estate?
EVELIA
GIL
ZIMMERMAN
: When people are living in an apartment or a trailer, and I am able to assist them into securing a new home, everybody gets excited. I feel good about that. It’s their excitement of moving into a new neighborhood, a new community that makes me feel rewarded.
What aspects of real estate do you feel you have a good knowledge, or expertise of?
Because I depend on referrals, I have become more of a facilitator who explains financial programs such as Ameridream Charity, Inc. and The Nehemia Program, as well as county and city bonds. I can help my clients understand types of mortgages, fixed loans, adjustable loans, buy downs, FHA programs, and so on. My second area of expertise is the showing of specific homes. With my experience, I can warn of problem areas my clients might be unaware of while tracking down the home that most closely resembles their dreams.
What is the most significant issue facing your profession today?
In spite of my best advice and guidance, some of my clients have lost their homes because of unsafe financing. For example, when an adjustable rate mortgage has been issued on a home, the rate can go up every six months. When it becomes impossible for the client to make their monthly payments and at the same time the home cannot be refinanced, a foreclosure can occur.
