For the majority of his career, Mr. Kocian worked in the medical statistics field. He served the United States government as a United States Army civilian for many years. This includes a stint from 1965 to 1976 at the Office of the Surgeon General; from 1963 to 1965 as a supervisory statistician for the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Electrification Administration; and from 1961 to 1963 for the Military Sea Transportation Service. He participated in publishing the “Medical Statistics in World War II” book of the United States Army.
