Dr. Wolfgang Lutz is considered a pioneer of the low-carbohydrate diet. While conducting original research work in the 1960s, he set the standard to modern, popular regimens such as the Atkins Diet and the South Beach Diet. For more than 45 years, Lutz has endorsed his low-carbohydrate diet to patients, spreading its message through constant research and the publication of no less than 60 scientific articles (as well as several books). Originally from Haag am Hausruck, Austria, he received a Ph.D. from Dublin Metropolitan University, a post-doctoral degree in internal medicine at the University of Vienna and a post-doctoral degree in medicine at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. He formed his early foundation in healthcare by joining his father’s medical practice, before eventually moving to Ried im Innkreis, Austria, and establishing his own medical practice.
