Dorothy Theresa Dzigurski, RN, BSN has been a certified neurological linguistic coach for 10 years. Overall, she has had at least three careers over the past 40 years. As a painter, she learned from her husband, the recognized artists Alexander Dzigursky. She steadily developed her talent to become a professional artist with an identifiable style, which drew collectors to purchase her paintings. “I have hosted several one-woman shows and sold my paintings,” she asserts.

Passionate about:
“Painting what I see as the soul and beauty of nature. My passion is about being out in nature to paint, and my favorite time of day to paint is late afternoon when the shadows are long with the quality of oncoming twilight.”

Biography Excerpt:
Ms. Dzigurski was born in Grand Junction, Colorado. In the mid 1960s, while working as a nurse, she treated an artist whose painting arm was broken. His name was Alexander Dzigurski. Dorothy helped him recover and a great romance blossomed, leading in 1968 to their marriage. Mr. Dzigurski, who is famous for his unique and colorful seascapes, has a large canvas, named “From Sea to Shining Sea,” hanging in the Franklin Mint Museum. It was painted in 1976 in honor of the nation’s Bicentennial, when the Franklin Mint Gallery of American Art commissioned him as America's finest painter of the sea. As a result of their marriage, Ms. Dzigurski learned the art of canvas painting. Today, as a grandmother and matriarch, one of her great joys is to brush away at her easel.

Interview Excerpt

Cambridge Who's Who: Is there anything you can say about sticking with your career?
DOROTHY T DZIGURSKI :  The advice I give is, through coaching find out what your passion or love is. Through that, follow your heart and intuition and go for it – something that you really love to do. Whenever you do it, your love is conveyed to whoever you’re reaching. Doing it for the love, and not for the almighty dollar, will make you happy.

How do you remain current in your field?
I paint regularly in nature. The beauty of that involves always learning new things. I am in constant contact with people who are collectors. I also exhibit and sell my paintings in art galleries, so I am in conversation with the changing art market. I read professional art publications. I am active with the NLP Coaching Institute here in California, attending conferences and seminars.

Is there anything else you’d like to accomplish in life?
I am working with my professional art community to find a home in the museum world for my best paintings. Examples of my paintings are “Italian Garden,” which is a 30-inch by 40-inch still-life oil painting of multi-colored flowers and antique vases; and “Serenity,” which is an 18-inch by 24-inch landscape oil painting depicting a peaceful atmosphere with a glow of moonlight on the water.
